With its new and improved sleeker and lower profile design, the Cheviot 4 comes with a thinner, tighter weave mesh in the upper, which gives the shoes an improved durability meaning they’ll hold up on the roughest fells and trails. This tighter weave mesh also provides a water resistant upper whilst maintaining its breathability. This is coupled with the new sewn in tongue further improving the water repellence of the Cheviot 4. Momentarily submerged in puddles and pools, the shoes won’t immediately fill with water! The durable and high quality fabrics used in the upper allow the Cheviot 4 to be flexible and handle the multi-terrains and conditions that the hills and fell routes throw at you, while allowing your feet to breathe at the same time.
The More-tech rubber outsole with a multi-directional tread pattern is made from a softer compound than the previous models of the Cheviot. This is to provide greater traction of hard surfaces such as rocky fell routes and dry or baked trails whilst also improving the impact protection of the shoe. Flex ribs in the mid/outsole give improved forefoot flexibility allowing the foot to contour and mould over rocks and roots on the trail and permit more precision in foot placement. The full length Phylon EVA midsole provides a longer lasting, softer feel to the shoes over those with a standard EVA midsole. This results in an ultra-comfortable, plush ride with amazing impact protection on longer runs and rocky descents.
The Cheviot 4 is ideally suited to orienteers and obstacle racers too. The More™ technology that has been included throughout the Cheviot 4’s provides a comfortable, lightweight and aggressively agile ride, allowing you to move nimbly and quickly over any terrain or obstacles between checkpoints and features!
